| Sandtray-Worldplay is
a transformational journey method for adults, children, adolescents,
families, couples and groups. Builders create a scene using wet or
dry sand, miniature objects, candles and the space of the tray to
give expression to what is taking place in their internal and external
worlds. |
| Sandtray translates
personal experience into a three dimensional form. A figure
or scene expresses feelings, emotions and conflicts that previously
had no verbal language. The sandworlds that are created offer
an opportunity to express preverbal and nonverbal experiences.
Clients increase their ability to express themselves without
having to depend on words. Self awareness, communication, relationships
with self and others are all enhanced and increased by this
process of expressing oneself through sand and miniatures. |

|
As a process, it involves the whole
person - mind, body, heart, language, intuition, soul and spirit.
STWP provides a unique experience of accessing and listening
to these parts of ourselves.
This experience enhances self
healing, self expression, individuation, the capacity to
be in relationship and to create shared visions and community
with others.

| The
sandtray is like a "soul garden", a kind of container for the display
of the client's psychic life. The sandtray is an "in
between space," where the client's inner and outer
life can develop and reveal itself. |

The
tray is that free and empty space where the client has the
opportunity to create her/his own world and transform her/his
existing world with fresh insight. |

The therapist
provides a safe and accepting environment in which the client
can allow her/his inner voice to speak. - Ruth Ammann |
